  • Your hosts: Peg Coleman - author, Montgomery County, A Pictorial History, Paul of Montgomery, Mama Wears Two Aprons, Around Germantown. Maryland Patriot coming soon. In the historical novel Maryland Patriot, Paul Drury, 16, leaves his log cabin home in rural Montgomery County, Maryland and joins George Washington's Continental Army. With the troops he marches to Annapolis, sails down Chesapeake Bay into Virginia, marches to the Carolinas and fights in the major battles of the Revolutionary War's Southern Campaign. He serves under great heroes and one coward, meets Andrew Jackson in a prisoner of war jail and is right there in Yorktown when Cornwallis lays down his sword. A swashbuckling good read with lots of action, tragedy, young love and family devotion.

    $195 per night (plus tax)

     Payment - Personal or traveler's check or cash. No credit cards.
     more than two additional guests - $35 each.
     Maximum occupants per night five people.
     Deposit - $25.00.

  • Luncheon: $25 plus tax per person.

  • English High Tea: Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays:
    $25 plus tax. Reservations only. 4 to 16 guests.
  • Small Weddings and Elopements: please click here for downloadable pdf file to reserve the date.
  • Deposit required with all reservations, personal checks only. Your reservation is complete when your deposit is received. If deposit has not arrived within two weeks of your request, the reservation is invalid.
  • Cancellation policy: Full refund if cancellation notice received 30 days in advance. If guest must cancel within 30 days, every effort will be made to rent the cottage, but if the effort is unsuccessful, deposit will not be returned.

  • No pets.

  • Smoke free environment.

  • Check-in after 2 p.m.; checkout noon.

  • MARC trains met on request.

  • Member Maryland Bed and Breakfast Association.

Directions

From Washington DC: 495 to I-270 towards Frederick. Exit 10, Rt. 117 (Clopper Road).
Continue on Rt. 117, which becomes Barnesville Road at Boyds.
There is a stop sign at the railroad underpass, and an immediate right and then left turn.
Continue straight ahead on Rt. 117 (Barnesville Road).
At the next stop sign leave Rt. 117, which goes off to the left, and continue straight ahead on Barnesville Road to Pleasant Springs Farm (16112) on your left.
NOTE: Be sure to go straight ahead on Barnesville Road - not Route 117.

From the North: I-270 South towards Washington DC. Exit 22, "Poolesville, Barnesville, Sugarloaf Mtn." End of ramp, turn LEFT. Continue to Barnesville Road, about 5 miles. Left on Barnesville to 16112 Barnesville Road on the right, crossing one 4-way intersection.
